The 3 Pillars of an Effective Decarbonization Plan

Commercial real estate must decarbonize, driven by laws in several major US metropolitan hubs and by market drivers in others.

Almost every major commercial real estate entity of scale has published corporate ESG and Sustainability reports, plans, and goals.

Many CRE ESG and Sustainability plans and goals rely on carbon offsets/renewables and energy procurement strategy. Currently this two-pillar approach is fraught with risk on meeting goals (price, supply, verifiability, etc.).

This Office Hours conversation will discuss and un-pack how understanding and incorporating SBTs in a three pillar strategy for ESG/Sustainability plans to provide a portion of organizations goals can:

  • reduce goals risk/increase success potential

  • optimize capital resource spends

  • improve asset values

  • supercharge the value and impact of investment in the other two pillars.
